If you don't have mobile site (as 70% of companies), it's time to start creating one (not thinking about)

There's new article on eConsultancy.com  about results of a survey of more than 700 client-side and agency digital marketers. Apparently, only 30% of companies have mobile sites.

There's a suggestion in the article, with which I don't agree, that 'If your mobile traffic is approaching 20% of all visits to your site, then a mobile site should be worth the investment.'

I think if you do that, you'll leave many of your potential customers with lousy mobile experience. And don't expect they will revisit your site again thinking that this time you'll serve them mobile adapted site.

Start developing mobile version of your site now. And test it on different mobile phones so you know how it looks for high-end smartphones as well as for feature phones. Testing tools are available at http://ready.mobi

Test against all version of mobile browsers, because HTML5 and WAP 2.x. Otherwise, if you target only Android/iPhone users you're excluding 75% of mobile users.
